CCleaner never start cleaning

I'm new to this forum, so Hi everybody!

I am having a problem with CCleaner. I have searched the forums and found previous post about this problem, but none of the suggested solutions seem to work for me, and some solutions I could not even try.

The problem is, when I start CCleaner, it starts up, but the 'Analize' and 'Clean' buttons never become operative (20 min +)

I am unable to deselect areas that CCleaner look at, since it will not respond to keystrokes.

The CPU usage from CCleaner shows up at 5%. Don't know if that means anything.

Several install/uninstall, safe mode, moving stuff around have not helped.

Any suggestions? Are there some subdirectories that I should try to go and clean manually, to see if it makes a difference?

I have spent a lot of time on this, and I am stumped.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Can you tell us what operating system and service pack you have pierak?

Is there anything unusual about your computer setup?

I take it you did not have ccleaner before your problem with the buttons? (in other words you are a new user)

Did you download ccleaner to your computer and install it from there? (as opposed to selecting the run button from the download dialogue box)

Do you have it installed to your C drive or somewhere else?

What security type software do you have and are all definitions and scans up to date and clean?

Can you uninstall it, and then download the slim version from the bottom of this page and give that a try
