CCleaner NEVER Finds Drivers that Neet Updating:

I have been using CCleaner for many months and after initially finding drivers that need updating, for months now, CCleaner had not found any drivers that need updating. I would think that from-time-to-time, drivers in my Windows computer need updated. Have/are others experiencing this problem? Thanks.

I’m not sure why you think this to be a problem?

Most drivers are not updated frequently, they only tend to get updates if a bug is found in them or if a change is needed to suit some new hardware.

Note that any such new hardware that requires a driver change will be brand new ie. you won’t have it in your current computer.
So you don’t actually need the new driver version that was developed for it, and that newer driver version may not even be compatible with your hardware.

Driver updater can only tell you if there is a newer version number of a driver, they cannot tell you if that new driver version will be compatible with your machine or not.

If you look in the Driver Updater section on this forum you will find plenty of posts from users who updated a driver to a newer version that was not compatible with their hardware - and their hardware stopped working properly or stopped working altogether.
(It appears to be a very common issue with audio drivers in particular).

The best advice is to leave your drivers alone unless you are having a problem with one of them.
If your drivers are working and you don’t have any driver problem then don’t change it to a newer one that might not work on your machine.
In other words: “If it ain’t broke then don’t try to fix it”.

nukecad, I thought it was a problem because after using CCleaner for months, there never has been an indication from the program that there are updates to the drivers in my computer. Thanks for the information.
