CCleaner keeps closing

As soon as CC starts cleaning (just after the "Do you wish to continue" dialog box) the programs exits. I used it successfully on my system for several years -- now it has this weird behavior.

I run CC in debug mode, apparently no error recorded. And no events in Event Viewer.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter 64-bit SP1
  • CCleaner v5.43.6522 64 bit
  • Antivirus: Microsoft Forefront

Although you're using a completely different antivirus than Kaspersky and Malwarebytes which are known to cause an issue perhaps look at this workaround fix to see if it works for you too:

If it doesn't work you may wish to downgrade to the old version 5.40.6411 until Piriform/Avast has fixed the issue:

Thanks Andavari, just changed Cleaning results level of detail from Summary to Advanced Report and CC stopped crashing.
