Ccleaner is being blocked from running on my computer

I have the 2year subscription to Ccleaner Pro Plus running on Windows 10. Yesterday I noticed that the icon disappeared from the menu bar. When I tried to open the program from the start menu it would not open. I rebooted my computer and it did not start the Ccleaner Smart icon in the menu bar and it still would not open. I uninstalled with Revo and reinstalled. It opened after install with no issues. I closed the window but when I tried to open from the menu icon, the icon disappeared and Ccleaner wont open again.

Which anti virus programe are you using please? and which version of CCleaner?

McAfee and I cannot turn it off because it is run by my work administrator.

I think it is 5.65. I cant say for sure because it wont open. It is the latest since I downloaded it from the website yesterday.

We are currently seeing issues with TrendMicro blocking CCleaner, and have seen one block reported from McAfee.

It seems to be that the AV definitions have not caught up with v5.65 yet?

I suggest that you roll back to 5.46 for a week or so to let the AV definitions catch up. (If that is indeed the problem).

If you don't still have the v5.64 installer then you can find it on the Filehippo page.

That seems to be working, except as soon as I install it asks to update. I say no and uncheck the auto update and register but it still updates and then quits working again.

Bugger, I believe that as soon as you register the key then it turns on auto updates. (and so updates itself).

You could skip the register and use it in free mode if you don't need the pro features?

Smart Cleaning will still work, except for automatic browser cleaning on closing, but scheduling won't and you can only clean the current account.

I'll try and think of a way you can register without it also auto updating. Could be useful in future if I can figure one out.

All I can think of at the moment is to register and then quickly knock off the internet before it can update, if you're quick enough that should give you chance to change the update setting to manual before going back online.
