CCleaner installed Yahoo SPYWARE bar...

I just downloaded the latest version and I made the mistake of just clicking through without thinking. Now I have that crappy Yahoo Toolbar that spys on everything you do, drags my cpu down, records where I have browsed, and is 100% worthless.

It is really frustrating to see a quality program designed to help get rid of 'crap' and then have it package crap along with it.

Is there anyway to like set in the register where Toolbars are automatically blocked from even being installed in the firstplace? Couldn't these most hated type programs be added into a malware program that prevents it from installing?

On the install promts you were offered to say no. This is how Yahoo suggests removal of the toolbar. CCleaner will not be affected.

For Internet Explorer: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/toolbar/t...toolbar-08.html

For FireFox: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/toolbar/t...toolbar-55.html

Microsoft about it: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=303047

Besides which Priform offers two version of all their software that come without the bundleware that helps them keep CCleaner, recuva, and defragger FREE

If they charged you I'm sure you'd moan too :P

you guys forgot to mention that cclaner offer a slim version..without the yahoo toolbar..check in other builds section..

but first remove that risky yahoo toolbar...run your antivirus...

and then...install slim version.

That's right, aqua. Here's the link - last download option: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds
