CCleaner.ini file suggestion

Hello all:

I was working with my ccleaner.ini file today,

I was wondering if it would be possible to have a backup path "defined" for the default location when saving the cleaning results to a txt file. (like the backup path for registry backups)

That would be a nice added feature. I didn't see this suggestion, sorry if it has been made already.

I think if you save the results, CCleaner remembers your last save location and defaults to that folder, but i don't think the feature you're requesting exists.

+1

You can do this under [Options], but do note the backup directory must already exist.

[Options]
BackupDir=C:\Program Files\CCleaner\Undo

Can you elaborate more concerning this?

I need a step by step what to do. I'd love to set CCleaner up to auto backup to a specified directory.

Relative path, if possible.

Open CCleaner.exe

Paste

BackupDir="C:\Program Files\CCleaner\Undo"

into it somewhere under the word [Options}

where C:\Program Files\CCleaner\Undo is the location you want.

test with relative paths if you want ket us know how it goes

Where do you paste it at? I tried to paste it in a few locations & didn't get it to work...

Here's a screenshot example:

Edit:

And do note, that "BackupDir=" path must already exist or it won't work!!!

Ok, gotcha.

I shortened it to BackupDir="Undo" & that works also.

This way, you can auto save it to the flash drive when your running it portably...

that's great you know how you could have saved time? By just navigating to the folder the first backup and it will always choose the last place you choose (see reply two). Note if you set it in the way andavari are saying and you ever change a directory that setting will also change.

Thank you all for the suggestions,

I had changed the directory in the first place to show the locaton I wanted. But with the UNDO it allowed me to change it all back to the location I wanted in the first place for the reg backups and the text files for the cleaning log.

Would it also be possible to have an option to automatically produce a logfile of the cleaning results added?

Thank you,

Please add the settings for the third-party app cleaning options.

And custom file/folder deletion is not working, it is unable to delete the custom folders (itself), those added:

(App)Custom Folders=True

Include1=PATH|C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Apps\|*.*|REMOVESELF

Include2=PATH|C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp\|*.*|RECURSE

Include3=PATH|C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Recent\|*.*|REMOVESELF

Include4=PATH|C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\|*.*|REMOVESELF

the above settings cannot delete the prefetch data also.

please take note. Thanks

prefetch is in use, thus can't be cleaned. Please start your own thread.

thanks
