CCleaner freezes while Analyzing System Temp Files

I'm new here and hope to get some assistance, please.

I have utilized CC without a single glitch for three years. Today I upgraded AVG Free from 9.0 to version 10.0 (2011) in addition to getting an automatic security update to Mozilla Thunderbird.

Subsequently, I now have the following problem when Analyzing in CC. It will totally freeze up CC at 31% when it is attempting to analyze System Temp files, but it's ok with analyzing and deleting Temp Internet Files if I uncheck System Temp Files. The point at which it is freezing up is in Document & settings...\local\settings\temp\newmsg-1. I then have to wrestle with the PC (XP) to get out of the frozen CC program or even having to reboot.

I have absolutely no clue what's going on and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you able to delete that temp file manually?

Thanks for the suggestion. Haven't tried doing this. I would hope that since it's a tmp file there's no problem manually deleting. Will let you know.
