I have been using CCleaner for more years than I can remember. Just today, when I ran it, it stuck at 39%, and would not finish. I gave it over 45 minutes, but - no go.
Any ideas how to resolve the issue?
What version of Windows?
What build of CCleaner?
What does it say in the window that it is stuck at?
Are you using custom clean, health check or what?
Windows 10, Version 6.08.10255 64 bit. Using custom clean. Just stopped responding, at all, at 39%.
What was it cleaning according to the ccleaner window when it stopped at 39%
Temp files, always.
Right-click on your C drive and select Properties.
Select the General tab from the top.
Press on Disk Cleanup.
Choose what you want to clean and click OK. (may take a while to run)
When it is finished, on that same disk cleanup window select Clean up System Files which is at the bottom.
It will run and may take a while.
Have a coffee and relax.
When it is finished, restart machine and run CCleaner .
