Is anyone else having trouble with driver updater. When CCleaner 7 first come out driver updater worked but after subsequent app updates driver updater has disappeared. I submitted a tech support request and was contacted by a technician named Igor who remotely took over my laptop. After a while he told me that because I was using an ARM processor driver updater wouldn’t work because CCleaner didn’t support ARM. I checked online and AI confirmed that CCleaner did support ARM. It was also confirmed by a guy called Virek on live chat. I have tried contacting Igor again but he has ignored me. I also submitted another tech support request and that has been ignored. Can anybody please shine a light on this because i thought that CCleaner was a decent company byt now I am thinking differently.
Hi @cometman,
Most features of CCleaner will work on a PC with an ARM processor such as Custom Clean and Health Check. However, the Driver Updater feature is not supported on ARM processors, so if your PC is running an ARM processor, that feature will not show in the side menu bar of CCleaner.
If you have any questions, please message me back.
Hi Laurence
Thank you for quick responce. Do you work for Piriform and if so in the near future is driver updater lightly to work with an ARM processor. Also can you say why it doesn’t work when most of the other features do. regards
@cometman, I do work for Piriform. The development team is working on support for Driver Updater on ARM processors. I am not able to give any time frame on when this will be available, as it is in active development.
I also prefer updating drivers only when there’s a specific issue or a feature I actually need. If everything is working fine, leaving stable drivers alone is usually the safest approach.
