CCleaner Drive Wiper issue

Hello,

I'm using CCleaner 5.32.6129 (64 bit) on Win10 64 bit. I used the drive wiper tool on the free space only. Windows crashed and gave death blue screen half way through the wipe. When i restarted the system i can see MUCH less free space than before. I tried to wipe again, free up space with both Win and CCleaner and to repair the drive with Windows but nothing changed. Does anybody know how i can get my free space back?

Thanks

Ric

In the root directory of your disk(s) you'll find files created by CCleaner that you can manually delete which are consuming your hard disk space.

Thanks, i looked there but there are no files.

Any other suggestions? I'm missing over 40Gb on this partition....

Are you sure the files aren't there? They should have an odd name like zzzzzzz.

Supposedly if you rerun the free space wipe it'll cleanup files left from the botched wipe, but having not encountered this personally I can only guess at whether or not this is true.

Hi,

Yes files are definitely not there. If i hoover over all folders in the drive including the hidden ones and check the collective size. I get an amount of 40GB less than the space that Win is reported as in use. This is exactly the amount that is missing.
