how i prevent from ccleaner to delete shortcuts from my desktop and other places?
what sort of shortcuts are now missing?
can you give some names?
what is you OS and CC versions?
did you run the registry cleaning portion of CC?

This may help. Make sure the cleaner tab is clicked on, then make sure you have the windows tab selected at the top. Look under the system category and see if you have selected: Start Menu Shortcuts or Desktop Shortcuts. If so uncheck them. This may help.
selecting Desktop Shortcuts and Start Menu shortcuts should only clean invalid entries.

so if the OP had icons on the desktop starting with ~ for example, or ending with .log or .tmp, CC probably removed them.
hopefully he will get back with some example filenames.
also hopefully CC didn't remove and shortcut links or .exe files if they were on the desktop.
CCleaner delete my shortcuts to . All of them were working .And what is really surprisingly that cleaner delete his own shortcut to !
And how you can see on picture below desktop shortcuts was unchecked !!!

If this is happening on Win10 perhaps that's the culprit after an OS update. One clue in that is the inability to save things like screenshots on the desktop.
I recently purchased Ccleaner pro for Windows 10 but on the two occasions I have used it my Desktop short cuts have been wiped out. Any ideas please?
This has happened twice in the paid for version when Desktop shortcuts were unchecked. I will not be renewing my subs as this is no good to me. Windows 10 home 64 bit.
