CCleaner deleted Firefox history when box was unchecked?

Hello,

Can anyone please explain why the above might have happened, how to recover and how to avoid a repeat. Before clean, the Internet History box was unchecked.

it's been reported before in other threads.

The Devs are looking into it.

what are your CC, FF and OS versions?

CC: v5.33.6162 / FF: 55.0.3 (32-bit) / Windows 10 64-bit

Apologies for pulling up again in separate thread. I had a search and couldn't find anything. That's fine, as long as it wasn't something I have done wrong.

And I take it there is no way of recovering the history? I checked the the places.sqlit.

no, sorry, your history is gone.

unless you have a complete PC backup, system image or a copy of your FF profile of course. :)

and in the last 3 or 4 change logs for new CC releases, 'improved FF cleaning' has been mentioned, so it sounds like Piriform is trying to play catchup with Mozilla's changes.
