I purchased the pro version and ran the “Update Drivers” tool and after restarting I’m getting the blue screen of death. Please help!

to fix the problem, try doing a clean reinstall of windows, whichever version of windows your computer uses.

if you are unable to boot the computer, try "clear cmos." different computers have different ways of "clearing cmos." you would need to find information about how to "clear cmos" with your particular computer. one way to do it, if no other way is found, is, with a normal windows desktop computer, to remove the battery from the motherboard for a couple of minutes.

of course, be sure to unplug the computer before fooling with anything inside the computer case, and allow some time for the power to dissipate after unplugging it. holding the power-button pressed for a few seconds, while the computer is unplugged, has been suggested, to dissipate the power, after the computer has been unplugged.

(with my computer that i currently use, the motherboard has colored lights built in to it, which causes the power to dissipate after the computer has been unplugged, so, with it, i don't worry about holding the power-button pressed for a few seconds, after unplugging the computer, to dissipate the power. once the lights go out, i assume that all of the power has been dissipated) and, even with old computers, it is similar. in my experience, all of the motherboards that i have seen had a light that would indicate whether or not there was any power present. if the light wasn't shining, the power was dissipated.
