CCleaner crash everytime in disk anlyzer

hi
everytime i use disk anlyzer for big disk partion like more than 170,000 files it just crash immediately when the scanning reach that number or beyond

Are you using Windows 10 or Windows 11?

Your ‘or beyond’ there makes me think that it isn’t the number of files that is the issue here.

It may be the total size of the files scanned, but I don’t believe there is a limit on that either.

What I do suspect is that you may have some pathnames with more than 256 characters.

Although Windows 10 and 11 will let you create longer pathnames nowadays (techie info on long pathnames), some parts of Windows still has problems with them.
For instance you can have issues with copying, moving, or deleting them in Windows File Explorer.

Many apps will stop working or crash when they come across such long pathnames.

If you do have such then you need to look at the directory (folder) names that make up the path to the files and shorten them where you can.

eg. a folder called something like “Photos from the wedding of Samantha and William at Culzean Castle and Country Park in Dumfries Galloway and Ayrshire in Scotland on the 12th of February 2022” would be an obvious one that could be shortened.*

Then do the same with the filenames themselves if those are also long.

*Yes that is a real folder name that I came across when fixing a friends computer.
