CCleaner ccsetup 5.01, 5.02, & 5.03 locking up.

I've been unable to install 5.01, 5.02, or 5.03 CCleaner. (I'm still running 4.18.)

I've been downloading off of filehippo link given and I have no problem installing CCleaner on my home machine running Windows 8.1.

What happens whether I run as administrator or not on Windows 7 on my workstation at work.

1. Starts installing.

2. Asks for permission to run as administrator (if not starting as administrator).

3. Click Next & Install for a default installation.

4. Green bar starts moving and stops at 2 cm.

5. An icon "ping.exe" shows up on my desktop with a signature from C3 SoftWorks, Inc. and version 3.0.0.0.

6. Clicking on the "Details" says, "Please wait, installing CCleaner..."

7. Nothing happens afterwards. I can leave it in this state for a few days, but I eventually have to use task manager to kill the process.

Questions:

1. Why does CCleaner install ping.exe?

2. Is my company's firewall blocking some communication which stops the installer in its tracks?

As you are using CCleaner in a company environment and so are probably using a paid version, you are entitled to support directly from Piriform.

By the way it is better to download from here

Why does CCleaner install ping.exe?

- I think it is a feedback signal when someone installed ccleaner ...

Is my company's firewall blocking some communication which stops the installer in its tracks?

- quite possible, by me its only for a moment.

It's not ccleaner, it's filehippo's installer I bet. I'm with Hazelnut here, the piriform download is by far superior.
