CCleaner Causing Facebook Issues?

Hey all! Yesterday (at about 5PM Eastern Time), I downloaded the newest version of CCleaner Free edition (5.31.6105) onto my laptop.

However, there seems to be a persistent problem that I am having with this version: It seems to be not only clearing my cache (as it should), but wiping my Facebook's browser settings too! As in, after I do a cleaning, Facebook doesn't recognize both browsers that I use-browsers I have told it to recognize/remember. I have tested to see if I get the message via logging out and then back in without running Ccleaner- I don't, so it's probably is Ccleaner causing this (I assume).

I did not have this issue (or at least not every time I did a cleaning) with previous versions of Ccleaner.

The attached file is there to show which boxes are checked in the relevant browsers. Also note that I am still able to log onto Facebook just fine, it just stops recognizing my browsers whenever I run the cleaner on this version (Plus it's a bit annoying when all of your notifications are login alerts for browsers that should be recognized).

(Also please keep in mind that I have the technological capabilities of a gnat. Please be simple when explaining tech stuff to me!)

hello annac,

if i unterstand you right...you want cleaning but without reentering your passwort

please try to uncheck Cookies

@trium No, that it not what the issue appears to be, but thank you for the suggestion!

The issues is that recently, whenever I run CCleaner, it (or something) seems to "wipe" the memory of my facebook account in regards to browsers I have told the site to recognize.

Whenever I've done a clean in the past day or so, if I log onto Facebook afterwards, it sends me this notice: "Hi [my name here], your account was recently logged into from an unrecognized browser or device. Was this you?" (Hint: Yes. Yes it is. There's a 99.9% chance it is me and will always be me.)

It does not show this message if I just log out and/or close the browser, then log back in.

Unchecking cookies helps, but only in the way that it doesn't log me out to begin with.
