CCleaner broke my computer!

I did an update of CCleaner on 3/20/2025 and ran a cleaning session. Thereafter I started having serious problems with my computer. I cannot open Quickbooks or Google Chrome. I can’t open Adobe Acrobat which I use as a PDF Reader.

I have been trying to diagnose and fix the problem, to no avail. I am using Windows 10 on a laptop and the OS is up to date. I have run Quickbooks diagnostics and repair tools, and nothing has fixed the problem of it not opening (i use Quickbooks Desktop locally).

Please help me to either roll my CCleaner app back, or give me a fix. I am using Version 6.34.11482.

First thing you could try is looking in the Performance Optomiser part of CCleaner and checking that those apps haven’t been put to sleep.

You didn’t clean the registry did you?

Thank you for responding. I can’t find the Performance Optimiser after much searching in the menu system. Please advise as to where it is.

My CCleaner menu doesn’t look like yours. Mine does not have a Performance Optimizer. Now I’m really confused!

I tried to upload a screen shot with my last posting, but it would not allow me to send an image. Also, the site is VERY slow. Seems like I’m being hacked. To make this easy, I’ll just tell you here that the version number is v6.34.11482 (64-bit). I assure you this is accurate.

Update: I did another screen capture that was a smaller area and it still couldn’t be uploaded. I get this error:

      An error occurred: Sorry, you can't embed media items in a post.

I still can’t upload my screen shot image. I did log out and log back in. Still get the same error message as reported earlier. Geez, guys.

yeah, I’ve complained to the admin about this, probably the rank i gave you was not enough. but you provided what i asked for so let’s move on.

It’s been days now and I’m beginning to wonder if I’ve been abandoned. Tech support, are you out there? I really need for my Quickbooks to open.
