CCleaner Beta - Edge Chromium v5.61.006

In preparation for Microsoft's upcoming launch of their NEW Edge Chromium browser (more info) we have been busy adding support for it in CCleaner. So we can start getting feedback as early as possible we have put our progress thus far into a Beta, which contains the following cleaning rules:

 • Internet Cache
 • Cookies
 • Internet History
 • Download History

NOTE: Currently CCleaner treats both the Canary and Dev versions of the browser as the same (more info on them here), meaning both will be cleaned at the same time. Feel free to let us know if this is going to be a problem.

Known Issue/s: (I will add to this list if more are discovered)

 1. CCleaner is not reporting anything for Download History during Analysis or Cleaning. It is however still cleaning this location if the rule is selected.

What's Next: We’re intent on adding more cleaning rules and improvements. Let us know which of the below you would like to see next!

 • Session
 • Compact Databases
 • Saved Passwords
 • Saved Forms
 • Last Download Location
 • Full support in other CC functions (Smart Cleaning, Easy Clean, Cookies to Keep etc)

Please comment in this topic if you find any additional bugs or issues.

Installed on 2 systems with Windows 10x64 Pro Build 18362.267 V1903 and MS Edge Canary installed. CCleaner appears to be doing what you have set it up to do for MS Edge Chromium thus far. Thanks for being proactive on this browser in beta mode.

Thanks for adding Edge Chromium.

One thing I noticed: "Cookies" does not remove Flash Cookies anymore. (Folder: "...\User Data\*\Pepper Data\Shockwave Flash\WritableRoot\#SharedObjects")

Since the browser is based on Chromium, it should be possible to add the missing rules without any problems.

Edit: This also applies to Edge Chromium: https://forum.piriform.com/topic/54517-cookies-local-storageleveldb/

Chromium has its own special Flash integration, so the Flash cookies (and the cache) are stored in the user profile of the browser. The attached screenshot shows the cleaning of Google Chrome Flash cookies.

Definitely start with Cookies to Keep. ;)

I've been using Edge Dev since it became available, it's very stable and I'm using it as main browser. That's the feature I miss most.

These will be in the next stable version of CCleaner that will support Edge Chromium?

The last one, what CC stands for? CCleaner? Where, these functions ( Smart Cleaning, Easy Clean, Cookies to Keep etc) will be implemented? " For Edge Chromium?

Can I install Beta over my present version of CCleaner (v5.63.7540)? Or, do I have to uninstall the present first , then install the Beta?

CCleaner (v5.63.7540) is a stable version after this Beta. Is it in there? If so, I can't make it work.

Only this one Beta currently contains some cleaning rules (unfortunately not complete) for the Edge Chromium. The next stable version 5.64 should supposedly contain all cleaning rules.

When will 5.64 finally be released?

Piriform usually releases monthly updates

Version 5.63.7540 was released back in October, and now it is January, apparently there will be some important update

They may be holding on for the official release of Edge Chromium, which is slated to be 15th January. (It will probably be part of this months Patch Tuesday update).

We are promised a couple of other changes (Health Check as standard, and a change to the way bundled offers are made) as well as the Edge Chrome cleaning:
