It recently started doing this on the previous version uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version and it keeps happening. its somewhat intermittent.
Would any have any thoughts on why this started happening?

Custom Clean or Health Check ?
What operating system?
Win 10 1909, Custom clean, V6.11.10435, default settings with smart clean off
Do you have/use Teamviewer?
Yes I use Teamviewer, could that be causing the issue?
There is an issue regarding Teamviewer and cleaning at the moment.
Have a read of all of this thread and see if you feel this is your problem.

Thank you! it may well be related, as it started after recent updates to both TeamViewer and ccleaner, which is super frustrating as i use both to support elderly family members.
jessicav it is not a problem. just untick the option for having ccleaner remove junk-files for teamviewer.
