Hi, I have a few different virtual machines I use to run a few different Linux distros. If I run CCleaner on the host, will that clean cache, temp files, etc from the VM's or do I have to use CCleaner within the vm's? In other words, does vm's store temp data on the host?
does your VM software keep all its data in .VHD or .VMDK (or similar) files?
if so CC cannot clean inside those so you'll have to run CC from within the VM.
and don't forget, CC doesn't work on Linux.
I use Oracle VMWare Workstation and the only way it saves things on the host PC is when I setup shared folders.
I am using VirtualBox. See here: https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch10.html#vboxconfigdata
Will running CCleaner or bleachbit for Linux clean these machines?
most likely you nees to run those applications within the virtual client, running them on the host machine will have no cleaning effect on the virtual machine
