CCleaner already in use

Already use CCleaner but all I want is a PC tune up download that is not 'automatically' downloaded yearly with payments as had with Norton for 3 years and could not get out of these payments coming to £60!

I would like a cleaner to just clean out all the 'junk'/registers not in use/bits of registers left etc etc., broken/damaged bits and pieces etc etc?

Don't know about how all this stuff works nor do I particularly want to know how it all works, just want a download at reasonable price, that I CONTROL YEARLY PAYMENTS and most importantly, I 'just press a bottom' and hey presto!!!!

Possibly men don't like this idea but lots of women do - like me!!!! AVG has a PC tune up and Optimiser to do all the tecnical bits but...... they want to control the yearly payments! - hence me coming on this forum!

I look forward to your comments and thanks greatly if you at CCleaner's can help out here!

Hi Gena, and welcome to the forum.

CCleaner is free for home use unless you want to pay for the Pro version which has automatic updating and a few extra features, or if you want to pay for direct support from the developers.

If all you want is a personal home version, which will probably do all you require, then download CCleaner free version from here ...

http://filehippo.com...nload_ccleaner/

And all the guys on here will provide free support any time you need it.

Or have I misread that, and it's something more than CCleaner that you're looking for, already being a user, and referring to PC Tune Up above.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for reply. Yes already paid for the £20 jobbie, but looking for a download that will clear out all the dils. and bits and pieces left hanging around taking up space and more space! Do not much like the idea of direct debits whereby the company - like Norton - has full control of my bank account and it is near impossible to actually contact Norton for a tel no. email etc. I had to eventually close down that account to stop they taking £60 odd every year for 3 years! AVG sounds good but again..... Why can it not be that a company, say like CCleaner just tels customer they need to renew - like they do? Not just take the monies out of people's accounts?

Women in general just want a simple download that will clear out ALL the bits of junk for them? Simple!!!! We don't want to know how you do it, and all the rheotoric you guys like to go into! I tell you that IF you could come up with such a download, you would be LOADED! Simple eh!!!

Thanks and Good Christmas everyone!

Here's hope for New Year 2013!

Hi Gena.

I would suggest that you stick with CCleaner, and leave the myriad of different "TuneUp" utilities alone.

Programs are available which do dig deeper into your file system and registry, finding things which CCleaner doesn't, and in the process some of them can, and do, remove things which shouldn't be removed.

CCleaner is a safe program to use, and doesn't go looking for things like "duplicate files/folders", "unnecessary file/folders", "empty folders".

Some of these things can be necessary, and can cause problems if removed.

Neither does it dig too deeply into the registry.

CCleaner is what it is, and I can't see it ever changing into something which becomes risky to use, which some of these "TuneUp" utilities are.

Your choice of course Gena, but I would stick with the program you know and trust. If it's of any use, I don't use anything else on my computer at all except for defrag programs, and Piriform make their own, "Defraggler".

Hope that helps.
