Hi, an auto update to my CCleaner happened on Saturday. It installed a browser along with the update that would not allow me to use my default Chrome browser. I need my Chrome browser and deleted the CCleaner browser, but Chrome still would not open. Then I deleted CCleaner entirely and it still won’t open. I have a lot of things for my work on my Chrome and I need it for my desktop at home to use. Please advise. Thank you.
By installing another browser you have ‘unset’ Chrome as being your default browser.
You just need to set Chrome as your “default” browser again.
Open your Start menu and type: Chrome
Open Chrome and it wiil ask if you want it to be your default browser.
Ok, thank you! How do I do that? I can’t even open it. Do I have to delete it and then reinstall it? I have a lot of work things on it, I was hoping not to have to do that. I have checked and I have Chrome set as my default browser in my settings, but it will not open at all. Thank you.
The easiest way is as I just said, open the Windows Start menu an just type: Chrome
From the window that pops up open Chrome.

Yes you don’t need to use the ccleaner browser if you don’t want it.
I’ve never had it on any of my machines, everybody has their own choice of what browser(s) they use.
Hi, thank you for letting me know. I have had CCleaner for years, and this update is the first time it uploaded a browser with the regular update. I would LOVE to have just CCleaner as I always do, that’s why I’m asking in advance, I don’t want to make the mistake again. Thank you so much for all your help!
Hi, I tried what you said, went home to the start menu and typed in Chrome, and nothing would open, nothing when I clicked run as administrator, new window, incognito window, etc. Please advise. Thank you.
Hi again, I deleted the Google on my computer that would not open and went to the official stie and downloaded it again and it works just fine now, thank you for your help! I will download C Cleaner again probably tomorrow, I’ve had enough for today!
