In v6 you used to be able to select all users, or specific user profile to clean. In 7, it seems this option was removed. How do you get CCleaner to clean all user profiles on the system?
Hi @CCleaner_IT,
The Select all user profiles to clean option is currently not available in CCleaner 7.
If you’d like to see this feature added to CCleaner 7 in the future, please submit your suggestion via the Ideas Portal, located in the left-hand menu of the application. This helps us gauge interest and prioritize enhancements based on user feedback.
We used this feature to clean user profiles on a server in version 6. There was no indication that this feature would have been removed in 7, so we purchased 7 thinking it would be there. How do I clean all windows profiles with 7?
On a server should you not be using CCleaner Cloud to clean the endpoint users?
No. We had tried cloud and had issues with it so CCleaner support recommended we use v6, so we went back to using that for several years worked great because we could select multiple profiles, which is missing in 7 unfortunately. Perhaps CCleaner has some recommendations for us.
I ABSOLUTELY HATE the new version, including that it was forced upon me with no option to stay on the old version. Hate that registry cleaner is now lumped in with general cleaning. But I really freaking hate that the “all users” option is gone. We run hot desks and I have many users on one computer and now I have to run CCleaner individually on each user, what a monumental stupid effing waste of time. I am sorry to be so blunt but this really pisses me off. Goodbye, CCleaner.
You can always go back to 6.39, the previous version.
Thanks for sending this over. I’ll review it today. In the meantime, we’ll need to revert our servers back to the previous version, v6.39.
The goal has always been to ensure our servers are cleaned up regularly, which has worked very well for many years until the release of version 7. Since CCleaner v7 only supports cleaning a single Windows profile, it no longer meets our requirements. Once a future update restores support for cleaning multiple profiles, we’ll revisit upgrading all of our licenses to the new version. Until then, we’ll remain on the previous release.
CCleaner v7 is terrible. The UI is hard to navigate and it looks like many options have been removed, like fewer applications available for cleaning. I’ll stop there because I don’t want to spend the time to call out other options and features that have been removed.
The ability to run CCleaner against multiple users was a key feature for me on my home PC. I’m uninstalling v7 and reverting back to v639.
