Ccleaner 7 - Is your intention to destroy your existing customer base?

I’m all for updating and modernizing applications, but you can’t just blow out functionality and capabilities.

  1. Create Ccleaner.ini from registry-stored settings (to update user must first manually change the option in Ccleaner 6 to use ini file, then upgrade to Ccleaner 7)
  2. Registry exclusions - gone?
  3. Winapp2.ini support? Many of us have large customized Winapp2 files with our own custom-created entries!
    ???

I don’t have time for deeper investigation now, but I’m sure others will add concerns to this list.

I unistalled CC7, and used a recent Restore Point from a few days ago, and IT WORKED!!! :trophy:
Old CCleaner back up and running. (Only had to update Firefox.) Just going to see how long I can ignore “Update Available?” They say up to a year before they force one on you?

I’m running (COMPETITION PRODUCT) right now in a VM to check it out..

Seems like I could make it work. It will take in my custom winapp2.ini file. I would have to spend a lot of time customizing it and looking deeply into what it would delete and what it wouldn’t, and compare that to ccleaner 6.

I doubt I’ll get any feedback from the developers about my concerns - they are clearly going toward the “plug & play” customer base.

To @jaddorf, sorry i had to edit your post, alternative software is not allowed to mention in this official company website

No problem. I hope my comment, which is more acidic than I like, gets attention from the developers. I’ve been using Ccleaner for years so have so much “institutional experience” with it. I would hate for it to morph into something that loses functionality for existing power-users.

i hope 6 gets developed. im not using 7, everyone i know is done with 7.
