I am really angry and am having to hire expensive computer person to try to recovery from this ccleaner caused disaster. I’ve lost internet connection & access, it has blocked access to my excel and word documents. I deserve a full refund and perhaps will bring a lawsuit. CCleaner pushed the upgrade on me. No longer trust this product. Can’t even have a conversation by phone with a human tech person. I plan to report this travesty on facebook to warn others to beware. You guys need to contact me via email. Thank God I have another working computer. I used the scan function, driver upgrade, and system to remove duplicate files. Driver update on the system driver ran all night trying to update INTEL(R) serial IO 12C host controller -A2E1. pressing stop did not work. I rebooted and retried and it just ran and stop did not work. I tried to recover recycle dup files and quit after receiving message on some files that it could damage windows functionality.
holy crap that’s terrible. My situation wasn’t as bad as yours but it prevented Google Chrome from opening. I had to reinstall Google Chrome and uninstall CCleaner to get Google Chrome to work again. Now Im worried about my other files, hopefully it hasn’t done anymore damage to my system. This is crazy I am so confused as to why CCleaner version 7 is so bad!!
Hi stephenie. My computer guy took my PC to his office. He is going to reinstall windows 11. I was also having trouble using Excel and Word but he guessed when my internet access was recovered I would reach my files. Also it seems to have wiped out my printer connection. He is a real pro and has been doing it for years. He initially tried to manually update the system driver but it blocked him even though I was the administrator.. He said it did some real strange stuff. Thank god my wifes PC is working. One thing I learned is to set a reset point so I can recover next time. I think things messed up because I tried to restore duplicate files from the recycle folder which was placed there by ccleaner. I feel like they gave us a beta version that was not tested properly. Good luck….Jim Shaffer
Hi @gshaffer8,

Hi Laurence,
You are in a tough position to defend this defective forced upgrade. Only taking down v7.0 and starting over will fix this major screw up. I had a chance to do some invited Beta testing and had reported many issues that now annoy users. Nobody cared. Nothing was fixed. I had W11 and Firefox browser issues also during testing of V.7.0. For 20 years I have used CCleaner without problems and installed it on all computers and laptops I repaired and now this. A forced update destroys smooth functionality of the OS (including mine) and some apps for many users. As I use NAS, my personal files and work were not affected but it took some time with W11 repair tools to get my system working correctly again. I reinstalled the excellent v6.39 from archive and have a perfect system again. Thank you
That link does not seem to actually open a support ticket. Your message acutally admits that. What I got after submission is that screen that includes the message “Get instant help from our support team.”
But it is an outrageous lie. That took me to a robot. There is no “suport team.”
There is no support ticket opened - or at the very least, there is no confirmation of a support ticket being opened. A real support service uses a unique ticket number and link to that ticket. That’s not what tthis is.
There is no automatic email confirming that a support request really exists and has been assigned.
Does CC think we are all idiots? Maybe they are right?
CC is a bad actor. Thier website is meticulously designed to avoid any method of actual contact with them.
Thanks to CC7, my old HP8020e that has worked flawlesly for years using 3rd-party ink will no longer print ANYTHING because CC7 wiped out the driver. To add insult to injury, the printer on screen dashboard itself sends back error message saying my cartidges need to be replaced with genuine HP cartridges.
If anyone has an address for legal service against CC7, I would appreciate it. I don’t care if they have something in the TOS claiming I can’t sue them. They still have to come to court to make an attempt to invoke the TOS and ask the court to dismiss. And if they don’t show up, I get a default judgement and with a sherrif to any office of theirs I can find and enforce that judgement against any assets can be walked out the door.
If you hear of a class action suit being formed, PLEASE let me know.
