CCLeaner 561 won't update

I recently purchased CCleaner Pro Plus for 3 PCs. My cleverbridge reference number **********. I clicked on the 'Download' button in my confirmation email, and received CCleanerBundle-561-Setup.exe. I executed the setup file and all loaded fine. When I start CCleaner it functions as expected. When I click on 'License Information', it displays the License Key that was provided in my confirmation email. When I click on 'Check for updates', it says that a new version is available. However, when I click on update now, I get the error message '0x2ee7: The server name or address could not be resolved'. I tried reregistering the product using the cut-and-paste technique recomended in my confirmation email, but that did not resolve the problem. Please advise.

From what you say then your CCleaner is registered already, it's just not updating for some reason.

It may just be a temporary server outage, (Sunday maintenance?), in which case try again later.

Alternatively try downloading and installing the latest version from here:

https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds

It will remember/keep your registration.

TBH regulars here often use the latest 'Slim' installer from that page rather than updating from within CCleaner itself.

The download link that you provided worked. Thank you. I spent several hours over several days trying to figure out what the issue was. It would be nice if they could at least dummy check their own software.

Thanks again...

One cause of that not-updating issue can be if your AV/firewall is blocking the connection to the update server.

(Some people have also been know to deliberately add firewall rules to block automatic connections to CCleaner/Avast).

In which case manually updating it yourself by downloading from the 'builds' page will usually work.

You may want to bookmark or make a note of that page in case you need it again for downloading future updates.

As I said above many users, including myself, always manually update from that page rather that clicking on 'Update Now'.
