ccleaaner 230

Just downloaded the latest edition of CCLEANER. Get two thirds of the way through installation and I get a write error. I then get option to ABORT RETRY IGNORE. I hit retry, but it doesn't work, don't wish to ignore the fault so I have to abort the installation. I have downloaded the file from both Piriform and from Filehippo and get the same error. Please help.

I have never had a problem previously.

Thanks

Just checking that these are the 2 sites you mention

http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds

Try downloading it with a different browser if possible.

Also are you downloading it to your desktop/download folder?

Which operating system?

If I may divert you a while, you are not alone :)

Which ccleaner version.. full.. slim?

Which ccleaner version.. full.. slim?

Hmmm, not sure of the version, as it wont install. I am downloading the latest and only ccleaner file available on Filehippo and Piriform websites. When using my curent ccleaner I am told there is an update available and always update to keep the bugs away, but there is a problem with this file.

On this page here it mentions the installer version at the top and further down the slim version (which a lot of folk use as they don't want the toolbar)

If you right-click on the installer you have and select properties, you will be able to see it's size and match it on that page to which one you have.

If it's the full installer, try the slim version

There is also the Portable version, the advantages of which are :-

No registry aggravation; and

No installation to go wrong - you just unzip it;

Hazel, I love your link to annoyances.

I can laugh now,

but my first P.C. had a 20 Megabyte hard drive with DOS 3.2, and 2 off 5" flappy floppy discs,

and doing a backup / restore with an armful of floppy discs took a long time,

and the tension mounted until the final floppy gave the terrible "Abort, Retry, Ignore? "

Economy "no-brand" floppy discs were no bargain.

Thanks very much for the advice you two.......I downloaded the slim version and had no problems with the installation.

I never added the toolbar from the "FAT" version, so this is better for me.

Thanks again
