CC Cleaner tells me edge is Running butit isn't.

When running CC Cleaner , I get the message that Micrsoft Edge is taking to long to close, and would I like to force it to close . The weird thing is that Edge isnt running (and I rarely use it). Any ideas what could be causing this?

Have seen several posts on various forums, that its a known bug, but theyre quite old posts.

Edge settings to change: startup boost, run in background. This should stop edge from running at startup and residing in the background. Turning these off should stop ccleaner from saying it's running
