cc cleaner findind tons of IE files & cookies ?

I installed cc pro last week and I selected most of the check boxes for IE explorer since i dont even use it . I only use chrome , so how are all these ie ans windows files being generated after every session ( even after an incognito session ) there is a whole page of ie and ms windows files and cookies ? and it takes up to 5 minutes most times to try and clean them and usually says "skipped ie explorer cookies file deletion" i am running windows 7 (64bit) . the file i circled concerns me since i dont network or even have file sharing enabled and no wifi ....

Other (Microsoft) programmes use IE's storage, not just IE.

If you are not using IE then you can untick all it's boxes, except for 'Temporary Internet Files' which other programmes also use.

(See the first 2 lines of your screenshot, those 2 files are in 'Temporary Internet Files').

If you are not using IE then there will be nothing in the other IE boxes to be cleaned so CCleaner doesn't need to look at them, so untick them.

(There may be the odd 'proteced' cookie which CC can't clean anyway, or if it does then it comes straight back).

That will speed CCleaner up again for you.

The 'thumbcache' files are from File Explorer, not Internet Explorer.

Then you have a couple of Chrome files.

Then various Windows log files.

That networking file is a logfile, it's normal and nothing to worry about.

If you want to know more, and maybe remove your homegroup (though why would you?) here are a couple of articles:

Thanx very much for that ,and for explaining it to me I really do appreciate you taking the time , you have a shot & a beer coming friend.

Now i can go work on that and read those articles .Take care for now
