This is an obvious problem based on posting on this and other forums. They are going to have to deal with it. But based on reading these forums and CC Cleaner support information, it may also be caused by other programs on your computer including anti-virus, malware detectors, etc. Go to each and see if they allow you to add CC Cleaner to the white list though not thrilled with having to do this since all cleaners have deep access to your computer. I am not going to do it. I did find a workaround when I went to uninstall CC Cleaner 7 App on Windows 11 which I have. CC Cleaner (I believe, not Windows) gave me the option to either uninstall it or repair it. I hit repair and it ran immediately, did the scan, but then unfortunately, the window saying CC Cleaner 7 is “busy” was still in the background. Right now the only way I can use CC Cleaner 7 is by going to the “Uninstall Apps” option on Windows, hitting Uninstall CC Cleaner 7, accepting the “Repair” option which runs it but if it stays too much of a pain in the a, I am going just uninstall it and get a refund.
Hi @MartyDog,
A fix for this issue will be in the CCleaner 7.2 update that will be released soon.
If you continue to experience this issue after updating to CCleaner 7.2, please message me back.
How soon is soon? I’ve been plagued by this ever since I was foolish enough to install version 7.
today 7.2 was released
Thanks Nergal. Great news.
Did I speak too soon? Ccleaner7 is no longer busy all the time. But it’s not doing much. It says it is deleting history etc but when I restart Firefox everything is still there. Is this perhaps a Firefox problem? I’ve tried a few things but nothing has worked.
Are you signed into to firefox sync (mozilla account)
