Can't recover video files from iPod Nano 5th Generation

I ran a deep scan on the iPod and it brought up a ton of files. I select all of the .mp4 files with an "Excellent" state and clicked Recover. It will recover the same video file every time, then get stuck at 1%. I left it alone for a while, but no progress.

I tried clicking Cancel to try again, but when I do that it doesn't do anything, so I have to end the process. I've tried many times, and have tried ejecting and reconnecting my iPod with no success.

I even tried just recovering one video file (~8mb), and it just gets stuck at 0%, 0 files as with all my other attempts.

I'm not sure Recuva will dig that thoroughly into a recent apple flash based device. Probably too many writes and rewrites occuring. Or issues with the file system the device uses.

Anyone else care to comment?

Recuva is supposed to recover from iPod, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle, (iPod Touch and iPhone not supported at this time).

Just in case it is a Recuva issue with a recent iPod generation, try this " free for home use" software ...

The main thing is to get your stuff back.

Thanks. The program didn't find one video file from my iPod, though. D:

Have you got Recuva set up to show "Tree View" ...

"Options\General\View Mode"

... and "Restore Folder Structure" ...

"Options\Actions"

This will display, and then restore the files in the same file structure they were in on your iPod, albeit to another location of your choice.

That way you should be able to target the files you want, and maybe try restoring a few at a time. I don't know why, but recovering a few at a time worked for me when I deleted a lot of music files off my hard drive.

If you target them in that manner, you may find it's just one problem file Recuva is sticking on.

Other than that I'm not really sure why it's sticking, but one of the other guys might have some experience with that.

Good share,thanks.

To recover deleted video from iPod/iPhone. There are two effective methods that you can apply to get back those valuable files, depending on what resources you have on hand (whether you have iTunes backup or a good recovery software).
Method 1: Recover deleted video on iPod/iPhone using iTunes backup
If you have backed up your phone through iTunes after saving the videos on your iPhone before syncing it, then you can use iTunes to restore lost data. Here's how:
1 – Choose an iTunes backup file of your device to scan, and click Scan. The process will extract the content from your phone backup file.
2 – Once the scan is finished, the screen will display the entire backup content extracted. Find your videos — in .mpeg format typically — and click “Recover” to recover video from iPhone 5.
Method 2: No backup? Just use a third party iPhone video recovery tool to recover deleted video on iPhone
Tips: To avoiding lost video on your iPhone, you must to back up your iPhone video to computer,so that you never lost iPhone video.
