I accidentaly deleted important texts off of my Blackberry Curve phone. I used Recuva to retrieve the texts. On my computer I can't open any of the files to view. I then put them back into the phone and still can't view the texts. Is there a way to convert the file type to be compatible with my pc. Getting the deleted texts is one thing, but reading them is another. Has anyone else been successful with this and if so how do you do it? Thanks.
Hallo, I have the same problem. I retrieved *docx and * xlsx files and stored them on an external Drive. It is not possible to open any file. Do I have to convert them first ?
"The file xxx cannot be opened by Excel because the format or extention is invalid. Check whether the file is damaged and check file format or extentiion."
I deleted several *docx and *xlsx files unintentionally 2 days ago and I created them 3 days age. With other words I created those files with the word and excel versions I use also today.
If it's been 2 or 3 days since they were deleted, and you used your system during those days, and just did a recovery today. Yeh, it's possible they are indeed damaged and partly overwritten.
Hard to say without file examination. But that's most likely the case. If so, no software will recover it.
What I'm wondering about is, that no file out of hundreds can be opened and I didn't work with the computer thince I made this mistake to delete a lot of files. When I try to retrieve the deleted files with Recuva I can see all these files with the file status excellent including the correct filename and extention and size but I can't see any file in the preview window.
I have a ton of files to recover. They're all marked 'Excellent' but after recovery not one can be opened (the message says the file is either not of the right format or has been corrupted).Has anyone successfully restored such an 'Excellent' but unopenable file after recovery? My files are typically MS office files (ppt, pptx, doc, docx) and PDFs. Any help would be appreciated. I have only the Free Version of Recuva and many thanks to Piriform for making it available. Will the Pro Version fix the files after recovery?
