Cannot download specific version of browser, uncontrolled updates to wrong version

I reported that I clicked on “About” in the hope to find the version of CCleaner browser, and without my confirmation it automatically started update and said that it is now at Version 128.0.26382.138 (Official Build) (64-bit) and that is the latest version. This version loses all stored passwords when restarted.
On my other computer running the same Windows 10, the same action resulted in update to version 129.0.26740.101 (Official build) (64-bit) which apparently does not have mentioned defect. But on my first machine it does not allow to update to v.129, and there is no option to install specific one. Even fresh installation results in defective version. What to do?

The dissapearing password issue has been flagged up to the staff for attention.
