Software Updaters can often know where to look to “see” new software versions before they are widely available.
(There’s at least one website out there that offers new CCleaner version a couple of days before they are oficially released).
Software Updaters can often see new versions when a ‘Check for Updates’ in the application itself doesn’t offer them yet.
Of course they can also make mistakes, or the ‘waiting to be fully released’ new version may get changed at the last minute.
So it’s up to you whether to install the new version that the Software Updater has found, or to wait until it is fully released and more widely available .
PS.
Can we trust CC7??
In my opinion NO.
It is buggy and as things stand at least 2 major features (the new Registry Cleaner, and the new Duplicate Finder) are dangerous for an unwary user to use, we have already seen users break their computers by using those features without care and then having to reinstall Windows and Applications.
PPS. If you are having issues with CCleaner 7 then consider going back to v6.39: How to Roll Back from v7 to v6.39
Follow ALL of the instructions there, particularly about turning off the Automatic Updating and deleting ‘CCupdate.exe’, if you do not follow the instructions then your newly rolled back CCleaner will just update to CCleaner7 again.
