can i this ms software (updates) delete?

hi fans :)

there are 2 questions for me...what from these progs can i delete for sure?

1.) at first can i delete MS Visual C++ ....17 with 9,64 MB?

the second version with 10,20 MB was an update... how at xml 4.0 sp2 -without KB.......

2.) at second can i delete MS XML 4.0 SP2 KB954430 ...?

i ask me, if KB973688 a kumulative update for xml 40 sp2 - include KB954430?

verdammisch-no pic upload :wacko:

1.)

MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.17 with 9,64 MB

MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0 30729.6161 with 10,20 MB

2.)

MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB 954430) with 1,45 MB

MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB 973688) with 2,80 MB

what do you mean?

can you?: yes

should you?: depends

if those programs are required by another program, then you'll have issues.

they can always be re-installed at any time.

I've only ever uninstalled (then re-installed) those ones to fix corruptions or to upgrade.

(I think msxml is only needed for XP and is included in win7 & 8)

hi mta :)

1.)

MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.17 with 9,64 MB

MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0 30729.6161 with 10,20 MB

2.)

MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB 954430) with 1,45 MB

MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB 973688) with 2,80 MB

i mean, perhaps only delete each first version under 1.) and 2.)

not all of this progs, so that only the latest prog-versions is available on my pc :)

you mean, i should leave it as it is?

MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable:

From what I've noticed these are typically installed by some software you installed that actually requires them for the software to even function. If you remove either you'll possibly break some software you have installed that relies upon them.

MSXML 4.0 SP2:

I think these were installed by Microsoft Updates as a critical security update.

Personally I'd leave both of them alone as a better safe than sorry approach.

thanks for your help, mta and andavari :)

I would agree that the c++ 1st version is as much a candidate for removal as it can be,

not sure how you tell which is the earlier version for the msxml though?

unless you are short on space, i'm with Andvari, leave them alone unless you know with some certainty that other software isn't dependant on them.

yo, i think as you mta with first version of c++, but im not sure with this msxml...

therefore i decide as andavari :)
