can I recuva files from hard drive that's not recognizable by my PC?

so my HDD decided to go apesh*t on me and now my PC can't recognize it. tried different cable, ports, PC an methods but to no avail. now can I recover files from that HDD or am I outta luck?

No, sorry recuva (and most other recovery software) requires a physically attached, drive-letter assigned drive to recover from

Does minitools partition wizard see the drive?

If that's the case, why did I buy this software? I have an external 3000GB SATA Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001, that has lost it's way. It can be found, but the rub is it must be formatted before use. I am trying to recover image files from the drive, why would I want to FORMAT it?

If this software truly cannot recover files unless it has the flie system, and the drive letter, then it is pretty much useless. Anybody can recover a file if the drive is lettered and the file types are known.

I'm looking for software that will truly recover files from a drive which seems its lost its initialization.

Any help, anyone?
