Can do online/auto. update of CCleaner Pro

Hello community, just joined up, first time problem.

I have two licenses for CCleaner Pro.

Am currently only using one of them on my older/daily-use laptop.

I can't seem to get CCleaner to update itself to a newer version using the online-update feature. It does automatically check if a new version is available, but when it tries to execute the actual update, for about the past several months, I've been getting this error:

CCleaner could not be updated.

0x2eff: The connection with the server was reset.

I'm currently running (still :)) XPSP3, which I don't think is a problem (I'm upgrading to Windows 7/64 in about a month or so), but if it is, just let me know, and I'll have to live with it until I update to Win.-7.

Anyway, if anybody knows what might be a fix, and/or if this is already listed somewhere within the forum, please share a link so that I can guide myself to those posted solutions/messages.

Many thanks, in advance..

g'day mrb and welcome,

try this,

uninstall current version

go into the Program Files folder for CC and remove all files (copy your .ini file if you use it to remember settings)

reboot the PC

download latest version from here; https://www.piriform...ccleaner/builds

install that and plug in your license key in the Options, About, License area.
