CA Antivirus Free for a year.

I found this on another forum. It's a registration to get CA Antivirus for free for one year. I remember reading here that some people really like it.

I used to use that and remember thinking that it was good at the time. Now that I have tried nod32 I'm going to stick with it for awhile, maybe the only other one I will try when my lease runs out on it is Kaspersky. I really like the Kaspersky interface and it has a great detection rate.

Nice find. :)

I'll stick with avast! Free on my main system and Avir AntiVir Free on my old PIII and when I have some spare money I probably purchase them.

CA Anti-Virus 2009 isn't bad at all, obviously I've got it installed to make such a statement. Too bad they don't have an everyday free version.

CA. Is that northern CA or southern CA?

CA in this case stands for: Computer Associates

Their antivirus updates many times a day, almost too much, and it's more than any other I've used.

Started having some issues with CA Anti-Virus out of nowhere. It started to crash for no apparent reason when initiating a virus scan - so I've went right back to Avast Antivirus which has no issues.

See? Why even bother when it ain't broke.

AV-Comparatives doesn't rate CA's AV program. I recall reading somewhere that CA won't submit to their testing, and Virus Bulletin's last test summary stated that CA didn't pass (albeit by a small margin). Surprisingly, neither Avira, although it does well with AV-comparatives.

Early on, CA was just plain free. It was fast and thorough. I went ahead and downloaded this recent offering. Probably won't use it just yet, but is good to have. Spoken...well, typed... like a true "download-a-holic", huh? :P

The old InoculateIT PE is what I used for a good year, that was a damn good little antivirus application that has now morphed into a bloated one.
