C:\?

When I run a deep scan, the files that I'm looking for show up in the C:\? directory. It says that the option of recovery is excellent, but I haven't tried it yet. What does C:\? mean?

It means Recuva couldn't find where they were previously :)

I know where they were previously, so that doesn't matter. Does it mean that it can't recover them because it doesn't know where they were previously, or if it can recover them, there will it put them?

You can choose where it will recover them ; it is a good idea not to recover them on the same drive they were previously as this can lower the chances of recovering them (they could be overwritten by themselves, if you see what I mean)

Yes, I see what you mean. :) Thanks.
