C:\$recycle.bin

At the new year I did some clean up work on my *.PST files from MS-Outlook. I now have an problem with CCleaner when overwrite is turned on. Each and every time I run CCleaner it takes forever, 898+ seconds, to clean the drive even with only simple overwrite 1 pass on. It attempts to overwrite the same files every time. They are listed as:

C:\$recycle.bin/S-1-5-21-1723260581-3741657527-2666499836-100\$rjuzn20.pst & others. The folder names and files names are always the same with there being about 4-6 filenames all starting with $r?????? and the extension of pst. Up until the time I ran the Outlook file utilities to clean up and compress my pst files I had no problem with CCleaner even using 3 pass overwrite. The files do not show up with a search even with looking at ALL files in the system. Has anyone else seen this problem and know of a cure?

Thank you for your kind attention! And thoughtful response.

Keith

Empty your Recycle Bin.

If it's empty, enable system files/folder view from Windows Explorer's Folder Options and delete them from C:\$Recycle.Bin :)
