C Cleaner problem

I have had c cleaner for years--first on my PC and now on my Mac Air (Big Slur)

I have run it before but yesterday when I ran it all my photos were deleted-- what can I do to make sure this does not happen again--THANK YOU

I'm not familiar with MACs, but seeing as no one answered since you first asked on Friday:

Where were the photos saved?

If they were in a temporary directory, where the OS stores temporary files, then it's probably been cleaned out.

If they were in the Photo Library then that could be another question.

Thank you for you input-- they were in a photo library--- interesting I do not see anything pertinent when I analyze before I run CC, that I should uncheck.

As I say I'm not familiar with Mac but we haven't seen any similar report from other Big Sur users. 

PS. I like your typo in the first post above. (Big <em>Slur</em>).

Are you sure that it was CCleaner that removed them? There have been reports elsewhere of photos going missing during the update to Big Sur.

I just did the library repair-- DONE AND WORKED-- Interesting I had the updated Big Sur. ? for quite a while and not a problem

The Apple check on my system showed no photos-- weird --- I have them now

Well not sure just what happened to them, although as a library repair got them back it sounds as if they were actually still there but just not being shown by the OS.

It was probably just an OS glitch on your machine rather that anything that CCleaner did, as I say no one else has reported photos going missing after running CCleaner on Big Sur. 

(Have you had a recent update to Big Sur? I see that there was a beta release of v11.2 on 13th Jan but I'm not sure if that has made it to general release yet).
