With my first use of C Cleaner, I did a complete and obviously too zealous cleaning of my registry, internet explorer, windows explorer and systems with the result that I lost my direct link to websites through the icons on my desktop. Every click on an icon required me to select a browser to open the link. Nothing I did thereafter allowed me to access websites directly except a complete restoration of my system. I want to give C Cleaner another try, but I'm wary of a second screw-up. Can anybody help me select the right boxes to tick in the C Cleaner program?
Hello.
Honestly, don't use the Registry Cleaner unless you are absolutely sure about what you are doing.
Second, about the right settings, that depend on what you need. Mostly, the default options work for most users.
There is a link on my Signature (Documentations) from where you can read about the various settings in CCleaner and what it does.
Write back if you need anything at all.

Thank you for the helpful advice. Luigino
