CCleaner always hangs @ 26% - and if I go to "Custom Clean" and deselect Temporary Files, works OK - so can only assume it's the Temp Folder that's the culprit. Any suggestions?
If you've not run CCleaner before, or if it's been a while since you cleaned, then it may simply be that there are a lot of them and so it's taking time?
We've seen this before and one trick that usually works is to use the built in Windows Disk Cleanup to clear the initial backlog of temporary system files.
(Disk Cleanup will also take a long time).
After doing that then run CCleaner to get rid of the things that Disk Cleanup doesn't.
CCleaner should run normally from then on.
what temporary files we are talking about?
c:\windows\temp?
c:\users\you\appdata\local\temp?
if ccleaner not works fast enought/hangs... windows disk cleanup take is time too... try this
open your windows-explorer
go to "c:\windows\temp"
in this folder -> "select all" (subfolders and files in temp) -> delete it
go to c:\users\you\appdata\local\temp
in this folder -> "select all" (subfolders and files in temp) -> delete it
ps: i have it in ccleaner -> includelist with option "with files and subfolders"
