Hiya all, New to this sort of thing and ever so slightly ancient.
Just tried to download an update for CCleaner, and my system froze, tried twice more, and got to the bit where it is downloading successfully, and tried loading again, get about 10 mm along the track and froze, tried deleting them from download list without success, whole system froze up, had to recover to an earlier date, which of course wiped attempts at downloading up dates, system is AOK now without update, any suggestions , apart from scrubbing round the download, sorry scrubbing round is matelot talk, sorry sailor talk , for not bothering
Well, thanks for all your help, like zero, this is just what I have come to expect from internet business, don,t correct any faults, just slide the any questions onto a forum, here well meaning people try to correct faults with someone elses product, microsoft do it google do it, sony, panasonic, Macafee, I could go on, there is an easy way out isn,t there, as the version I am using is free, I shall just switch to another provider as I did for Macafee. Surely they defeat the objective by not answering questions, people are voting with their credit cards, and going somewhere else for their products. I have been using the internet for about7 years now and the only forum to come up with an answer was Mozilla Firefox, and that was when I couldnt delete it???????????????????????
have you tried a second browser? have you attempted to download the zipped portable version from the builds link?
personally, while I understand you might be frustrated, everyone who posted in this thread has your issue's best interest, and you outburst was a bit terse (@Nergal is being diplomatic, your outburst was über-uncool). You have wonderful free software, provided to you and a wonderfully skilled team of users here too help just you in this thread.
First of all this is not an issue with ccleaner, but your computer's inability to download the setup from this website correct? if not, in clear concise words describe what the exact issue is?
have you attempted to download the version from filehippo?
As we are not in front or remoted into your desktop, we rely on you being calm and getting the information we require to make (in most instances very) educated guesses at what the issue is.
I assume by "scrubbing" you mean clean the browser cache from within chrome?
