Blank Spaces Where Words Should be on Some Programs

hi everyone

i just used CCleaner on my xp professional computer about an hour ago and as soon as it finished i noticed that things started changing the most significant ones are that in some places the font on my firefox browser has changed (not all the words only a couple) and i already went and checked in the options section in firefox and everything appears ok, the font is very annoying as it is difficult to read

another problem is that i use a program called lifeview DTV to watch television on my computer using a dual tuner PCMCIA card and after using CCleaner all the buttons and settings in the software dont have any words its just completely blank, so i dont know what i'm clicking even though the buttons still do work its just that there are no words

and as i have just started noticing these things i dont know how much worse this is going to get, i'm even quite nervous of restarting my computer incase that it never boots up again

the one weird thing is that when i use other user accounts on my computer everything works fine

So i really hope you guys can help me and are there any programs can restore the files back, will the Recuva program do it, because CCleaner permanently deletes everything doesn't it?

help and advice will be very appreciated

thanks

Welcome to the forum :)

Did you do a normal clean or an "issues" clean? If it was an issues scan did you choose to make a backup?

Have you tried system restore?

i'm a noob when it comes to computers and i just know the basics, so i dont know if it was a normal or an issue clean, how could i go about finding it out?

also i'm not sure how to do the systems restore, and if i do that what would happen to all the stuff that i did this morning or last week, can i get the computer to go to the point before CCleaner was first run?

thanks for the quick reply

Have a read here about how to use system restore
