Makes me cringe just watching the video, to say it fell flat is putting it mildly

I didn't get the joke.
I didn't get the joke.
Me neither.

...
Me too...ugh...I bet the tv guy wanted to become one with the floor right about then.
BTW I had the privilege of hearing him speak live once. He has a charismatic presence, just seems overwhelmingly nice or something. Don't have words for it.
Me neither.
I hope you don't really mean that.
A joke always gets killed in the explanation, but here goes.
Spiritual folk, if they try hard enough can become "one" with whatever they believe in. You could become "one" with the countryside if you live there and worship it, or a climber could become "one" with the mountains.
In other words, becoming "one" is developing a deep spiritual connection.
"Can you make me one with everything?" is slightly funny, but sadly in the interviewers case, not quite the right listener, and definitely not the right circumstance.
Actually, it's quite funny. And it's almost as funny as me doing this explanation if you guys do understand it.
I hope you don't really mean that.
After the explanation by Dennis I now get it. Being a bit of a jokester myself I don't know how that initially went over my head.
Haha, you've got to give him points for effort I suppose.
I got the joke immediately. What's to figure out? It's not a side-splitting gag but the humor is there.
Haha, I felt stupid once Dennis explained it and yes, explaining a joke makes one cringe.
That was funny, yes.
