Our bank has been informed of a fraudulent upgrade to professional which was done without our consent or authorization. Avast, owner of CC Cleaner, is facing an investigation for fraud and theft. We paid $14.28 in 2024. Fine. Now in 2025 we get charged $44 and change. NOT FINE! No way to contact Avast. That’s what scammers do. Avast is now in trouble. I understand Avast does this all the time! I encourage anyone who has been defrauded this way to immediately contact your bank or credit card company. Dispute the charge. Lastly, ditch CC Cleaner. Its a bad product. Very low Better Business Bureau reviews. Mine included. So many ONE STARS! Any company so desperate for customers that they scam people into an upgrade is not a company that I will do business with. Pathetic! Too bad Piriform no longer owns the product. They were trustworthy. Avast is NOT!
