AVAST incorporated with update

Have used CCleaner for many years with success. Of late I notice that when I download a new version this laptop (private, I'm the only user) also gains AVAST anti virus.

Is there a way downloading AVAST can be avoided?

I am more than satisfied with current protection. Also I would like to avoid suddenly discovering this has landed in my laptop; it means stopping what I'm doing and finding out how to delete AVAST from my system.

CCleaner has had third party offers in the installer since 2010 to help subsidise the free distribution. Avast was added into the mix in 2017. It doesn't appear for every user every time, but when it does there is an opt-out option:

Thank you Dave - I'm so accustomed to downloading updates that I didn't notice the option as shown above .... in future I'll look for and un-tick that option.
