I purchased CCleaner a year ago through Google play store, with auto renewal on Feb 25, 2025.
Today, Feb 24, I see a visa billing for "Purchase: 7.99 USD at GOOGLE *Nortonlifelock in 855-836-3987 on card xxx "
Is this the normal for auto renewal for CCleaner?
Well CCleaner and Norton are part of the same company now (Gen Dightal) so the two companies are linked.
However you say that the billing is from neither CCleaner or Norton, it’s from Google.
That is in fact as it should be, as this was a purchase through the Google Play Store then only Google know about it.
CCleaner themselves have no details at all about purchases made from Google.
Only Google will know what they have actually charged you for, so you will need to contact Google to find out what they have done.

As long as your CCleaner keeps working as it should then I would just put it down to a glitch in the Google System calling the transaction the wrong thing.

I did finally get a google play email receipt for ccleaner, however…it was 36 hours after the visa credit card alert for “nortonlifelock” .
