Apple pays ?13 million for clock

In an odd sort of twist after all the lawsuites Apple has taken out against others, they have had to pay out £13 million to Swiss Rail.

Hilarious.

the patent troll get patent-trolled

Funny especially after they accused Samsung of copying/stealing from them.

Hmm, I remember biting and apple once and now Apples logo looks very similar, wonder if that's worth $100 million.

Heard apple is suing Christianity for defaming its logo in the story of Adam and Eve

All these tech patent lawsuits are out of hand. There needs to be a moratorium. And yet at the same time I understand the need to protect original work. I'm not an apple troll or anything, I just dislike a lot of the stuff they're doing recently.

If I was the rail company, I'd have asked for 2x that amount + a fee formulated on how many products are sold. Apple just bought their way out..

I think this is even weirder

I call dibs on circles!

DIBS ON DODECAHEDRONS

If I produce a physical chair to sell, & someone tries to take it without paying for it, that is stealing.

If someone else produces a chair to sell that is nearly identical to mine, that is not stealing.

It's competition.

If someone else produces a thought that is nearly identical to the one that I am thinking, they have not stolen anything. Not even if I "patent" the thought.

How did this get to be such a controversial issue, or even get to patentable phase?

Apple may find that those they sue are starting to sue back!!!
